The MƒA Thursday Think Speaker Series brings accomplished thought leaders and experts who dive into cutting edge topics in STEM education to MƒA. In this talk, Dan Meyer engaged teachers in exercises designed to develop their pedagogical content knowledge—“pushups” for the teacher brain. Teachers watched classroom videos, predicted and analyzed student responses to middle school mathematics questions, and explored new strategies for inviting student thinking. By anticipating and responding to student misconceptions, teachers gained practical tools to foster deeper learning and engagement in their classrooms and schools.
