MƒA has committed $2.5 million over the next five years to Mayor de Blasio’s Computer Science for All initiative, which aims to bring computer science education to all 1.1 million New York City public school students. The Journal’s Sri Ravipati highlighted the announcement and what MƒA’s donation means to teachers across the city:
The [MƒA] $2.5 million donation will help train close to 5,000 NYC teachers over the next ten years. Furthermore, the donation brings CS4All’s funding total to more than $20 million in its first year, surpassing its halfway goal of reaching $40 million in the first five years. The program has currently reached 246 schools and trained more than 450 teachers.
