The MƒA Thursday Think Speaker Series brings accomplished thought leaders and experts who dive into cutting edge topics in STEM education to MƒA. Dr. Maria Klawe, former president of Harvey Mudd and MƒA’s new president, presented “Strategies for Engaging Everyone in Computer Science.” Dr. Klawe described different approaches to engaging those from all backgrounds in computer science, including attracting and retaining those from underrepresented communities, differentiating courses, encouraging collaboration, and providing real-world challenges.
