Anne Dinning is a Managing Director at the D.E. Shaw group, one of the world’s largest global investment management firms. From 2000 until 2017, Anne was a member of the D. E. Shaw group’s Executive Committee, in which capacity she jointly supervised the firm's worldwide asset management businesses and oversaw the firm's energy, benchmark-relative equities, insurance/reinsurance, and long/short equity strategies. She also served on the firm's Risk Committee.
Anne joined the D.E. Shaw Group in 1990 after receiving a Ph.D. in Computer Science from New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, where she won the Howard Grad Memorial Award for Outstanding Ph.D. Candidate. She earned a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Washington.
Anne was the 2006 recipient of the Industry Leadership Award presented by 100 Women in Hedge Funds, an organization committed to the professional advancement of women in the alternative investment industry. She is a vice chair of the board of directors of the Robin Hood Foundation, a philanthropy targeting poverty in New York City, and serves on the board of directors of Math for America.
